Here is the draft of our film review that we would want published in a suitable magazine ...
New release, Doctor Doctor has this week stormed box offices across the globe as directors Harry Neicho and Mark Carvell present a fusion between Charlie Chaplin and Carry on.
“We attempted to make people laugh,” says Neicho, “that was always our aim. Personally, I have always admired the likes of Buster Keaton and Chaplin, they both influenced so much of the comedy we see on TV and in movies nowadays.” The film follows an eccentric Doctor and his hilarious antics whilst on duty in a medical centre. His methods are somewhat strange yet heroic as a tale of lust, deception and pure comic genious unfolds.
“I knew we were on the verge of something brilliant as soon as we started filming,” continues Carvell, “all the cast seemed to just click straight away and there was always non-stop howling laughter throughout the following months as we put the various cuts together. I think what we finally created was pure gold as far as slapstick is concerned.” The two directors owe a lot to their generous benefactor and inspiration Helen Bolwell, who herself has lived slapstick for the last 30 years, directing several of her own films and starring in many, many more.
Doctor Doctor is an absolute must–see if you are a film geek and offers something for just about everyone; families, couples anyone with a sense of humour. In my opinion ... film of the summer – I literally wet myself laughing
